Real Virginia Agenda: Health Care Freedom & Affordability
Health care coverage shouldn't bankrupt Virginia families
Too many Virginians are being crushed by the rising cost of health care. Prescription drug prices climb higher every year. Young parents worry about the cost of bringing a child into the world. Small business owners want to do right by their employees, but the premiums are too expensive to afford.
I hear these stories everywhere I go in Virginia. And the truth is simple: health care is too expensive, too complicated, and too limited in choice. Instead of fixing the problem, Richmond politicians keep adding more red tape and more government control.
That’s why I’m laying out a plan rooted in conservative, commonsense principles to make health care more affordable and accessible without giving bureaucrats more power over your decisions.
My Plan for Virginians
1. More Competition, Lower Prices
We need more choices, not fewer. I’ll fight to allow Virginians to purchase insurance across state lines, creating real competition that drives down costs. Richmond’s one-size-fits-all approach has failed. It’s time for innovation and freedom.
2. Price Transparency
Virginians deserve to know what they’re paying before they walk into a hospital. I’ll require hospitals and providers to post clear, upfront prices. No more surprise bills. No more hidden charges for routine procedures. Virginians deserve honesty and fairness.
3. Cutting the Cost of Prescriptions
No one should have to choose between paying for groceries or paying for life-saving medication. I’ll demand more competition for prescription drugs, end price gouging, and expand access to generics and low-cost alternatives.
4. Relief for Small Businesses and Workers
I know small businesses are the backbone of our communities. I’ll make it easier for them to band together to negotiate better health care plans, leveling the playing field with big corporations. Workers should have access to affordable options that fit their needs, not whatever plan the government says they can have.
5. Protect Pre-Existing Conditions
No one should never lose coverage because of a pre-existing condition. I’ll fight to protect those guarantees while keeping government out of personal health care decisions.
The Bottom Line
No Virginian should go bankrupt over a hospital stay. No one should fear the bill that comes after a medical procedure. No one should feel trapped by a system designed to serve bureaucrats instead of people.
Health care freedom means stronger families, better access, and lower costs. That’s what I’ll fight for as your lieutenant governor because Virginians deserve a system that puts people first.
